Community Digital Development

Harvard Business Review

Does your Community or State have a Comprehensive Economic Development Plan? For many communities across the world, Tourism is just one part of the Economy.  The goal of comprehensive economic development in my mind is to import money in.

That can be achieved by:
1. Payroll dollars, creating jobs which pay more, hire more, and bring money in that spend in your locality instead of elsewhere.

2. Homeowner money.  The person or family buys a home, so that person or family will do most of its consuming locally.  Food, materials for the home, services for the home and family, and supplies for the use of items such as school supplies, fuel for the vehicle and more.
3. Tourism, the community attracts people and their money into the area,  The money is spent on food, lodging, shopping for interesting items, enjoying sports of many kinds, and or coming to visit family.
So the importing of more money into an area by a combination of the three (3) items is a sound economic development base.  Does your community have a strategy? How are you telling people about the area's resources?
Well, the internet is a great resource and is far reaching.
I would say people searching for areas, to live, work, or visit, want to see it, Become educated about it,  Then maybe they can be persuaded into coming to the area.
Some resources that may need enhancement are what your online presence is telling them about your area.

So how are you doing? Is your community online attractive?  If not then it's time to hire the experts, to collaboratively build out your presence.
